Not all cars are created equal and every consumer has a different priority. Given the cost and extensive time spent behind the wheel, it is not surprising that buyers are often disappointed when a vehicle doesn’t live up to the expected standards.
Even though numbers can point to a variety of conclusions, we here have compiled a list of cars to avoid buying in 2019 as they have been reported to be the least satisfying, according to overall data collected from 50 individual consumer reports, tests and evaluations.
Cars To Avoid Buying At All Costs In 2019
Honda’s attempt at making a premium model out of the previous generation Honda Civic was clearly a mistake, as proven by the consumer reviews of the Acura ILX. All they’ve done is added the Acura badge and projector highlights, but clearly, that didn’t fool anyone.
With fairly responsive and secure handling, the Nissan Sentra is a quieter car, thanks in part to the less invasive CVT. But due to the stiff ride, a pretty average driving experience, slow acceleration times, narrow cockpit and lack of support in the front seat, this vehicle looks good only on paper and is very underwhelming to drive.
This vehicle is tinier than the typical mid-sized SUV, but that’s not the only issue. With a mediocre performance and a dating journey, it provides a decent ride experience, which is the only good thing about this vehicle. Other issues reported by consumers are its lack of agility, poor fuel economy, a very small third-row seat as well as a reluctant transmission. Steer clear even though discounts are common on this type.
In order to compete with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes Benz C-Class; Lexus built this IS sports sedan. Not only does this vehicle NOT even come close to the German pairs ride, handling competency, technological features or luxurious appeal, its cramped interiors and less than average fuel economy makes it one of the least appealing cars to buy in 2019.
Nissan Versa Note
Even though this subcompact vehicle offers amazing space and versatility, it’s awkward driving position, lack of interior storage and extremely soft front seats are the main issues that consumers find unappealing. Plus, the continuously variable transmission tends to magnify an abrasive engine noise while accelerating, which could be pretty unpleasant for the people seated inside.
Discontinued for 2019, the Cadillac’s adept sports sedan remains in coupe-only in pretense. Even though it is fun to drive, the ATS’s sharp handling and eager performance are nothing if we compare them with the best European sports coupes, like the BMW 4 Series or the Audi A5. Proceed with caution if you’re really into this ride.
Even though the Pathfinder has seating for up to seven people; consumers report that its 2nd-row seat is extremely low, and the 3rd-row seat, extremely tight. It has a respectable acceleration, but its handling lacks agility. Even though it’s a practical vehicle, it is rather boring to drive and doesn’t really stand out in terms of other features, amongst its many peers.
